Understanding and Managing Documentary Sources

Outline

The aim of this activity is to train students in the use of databases of scientific articles, as well as other similar repositories, and in the understanding of basic aspects of bibliometrics (citations, etc.).

The activity consists of a presentation of techniques for accessing and analysing papers in scientific databases, and workshop work on a concrete example.

Assessment Method

Students will carry out specific research work, reading articles and bibliometric analysis, each one in the subject area in which they will carry out their Doctoral Thesis. They will submit a document to the professor detailing the analysis carried out and will present the results in class. The grade will be obtained from the interaction with the student during the development of the activity, the document submitted and the presentation made.
